Auditions for the musical Footloose will be held on Monday, december 8th after school. Auditioners must prepare 16 bars of a musical theatre song and learn an audition dance on Friday, December 5th after school or on Monday the 8th at lunch. Callbacks for lead roles will be held on Wednesday the 10th.

This is a reminder that all theatre students are required to see the upcoming production of Romeo and Juliet and write a critique on the production. The typed critique is due by December 16th. If it is received prior to that time it will earn 5 extra credit points. A copy of the critique format can be found on this blog.

Updated grades are now available on Aeries for all classes. Progress reports should be going out in the next week or so, so it is important that you are checking your grade regularly and making sure to turn in any missing or late assignments.
This week production, intermediate/advanced, and musical theatre continue to work on class projects related to upcoming performances while Stagecraft continues to work on building the set and props for Stuart Little.

This is a reminder to all students that if you did not turn in your signed contract and local shows assignment on Friday you can turn it in for late credit next week. 10% will be taken off per day that it is late. Both assignments were worth 10 points. Start the year on the right track. Turn in your homework.

- Beginning - Cleaning plays and reading through plays in groups. Final drafts of plays are due on Friday. 100 points.
- Intermediate - Working on Radio Plays. Performance Friday night. 6:00 call time
- Production - Working on 30/60. Performance Friday night. 6:00 call time.
- Musical Theatre - finishing All That Jazz. Running through duets. Working on Tap.

Here’s what’s happening this week in theatre:Beginning - students will begin writing their original plays. The first 1/2 of their play (minimum 2 pages, maximum 5) is due TYPED on Friday the 4th.Intermediate - students will continue to work toward their radio play performance.Production - students will begin staging their scenes for 30/60Musical Theatre - students will continue to work on the song and dance for the 8th grade assembly which will take place on April 4th.

Tuesday the 12th is the deadline for submitting progress report grades. Any late critiques should be turned in prior to Tuesday for partial credit. Large assignments that will be included in the progress report grades include final scenes in beginning, one acts in production, final monologues in intermediate, and song as monologue finals in musical theatre. Please make sure you check Aeries to see if all your grades have been entered correctly. If there is a discrepancy, see me immediately.
