MEE-OW performance

On March 25th at 7:00 p.m. the theatre will host a performance by MEE-OW, the short form improv group from Northwestern University, whose alumni include Ana Gasteyer, Seth Meyers, Julia Louis-Dreyfus, Durmot Mulroney, and Kristen Schaal. This is sure to be a crazy and fun evening of sketch comedy. The cost is only $5.00. Don’t miss out on this once in a lifetime performance!

Mr. GQ Show

This Thursday the theatre department will hold the annual Mr. GQ Show. Watch as some of the finest males on the EDHS campus compete in datewear, swimwear, poise, and talent for the chance to be crowned Mr. GQ 2009. The show begins at 7 p.m. and costs 5.00

FOOTLOOSE AUDITIONS

Auditions for the musical Footloose will be held on Monday, december 8th after school. ?Auditioners must prepare 16 bars of a musical theatre song and learn an audition dance on Friday, December 5th after school or on Monday the 8th at lunch. ?Callbacks for lead roles will be held on Wednesday the 10th.

ROMEO AND JULIET CRITIQUE

This is a reminder that all theatre students are required to see the upcoming production of Romeo and Juliet and write a critique on the production. ?The typed critique is due by December 16th. ?If it is received prior to that time it will earn 5 extra credit points. ?A copy of the critique format can be found on this blog.

Current Grades

Updated grades are now available on Aeries for all classes. ?Progress reports should be going out in the next week or so, so it is important that you are checking your grade regularly and making sure to turn in any missing or late assignments.

This week production, intermediate/advanced, and musical theatre continue to work on class projects related to upcoming performances while Stagecraft continues to work on building the set and props for Stuart Little.

MURDER ME ALWAYS Tickets

The theatre department’s mystery dinner production of Murder Me Always will take place on Friday, October 3. ?The dinner is catered by Blake’s Place BBQ. ?Tickets for dinner and the show are only $20.00. ?If you wish to order tickets, please mail in or drop off ticket payment by Friday, September 26 so we can get an accurate count to the caterer. ?Checks can be made payable to EDHS Theatre. ?Any ticket orders received by mail can be picked up at will call starting at 5:30 on the 3rd. ?The dinner starts at 6:00. ?Show-only tickets cannot be pre-ordered, but you can show up the night of the show and get tickets for 10.00 if there is seating still available.

Week 1 homework

This is a reminder to all students that if you did not turn in your signed contract and local shows assignment on Friday you can turn it in for late credit next week. ?10% will be taken off per day that it is late. ?Both assignments were worth 10 points. ?Start the year on the right track. Turn in your homework.
